Exploring the world with a holistic heart

Holiday Cleaning Products DIY

I have always found such joy in making something from scratch. From crafts and cooking to cleaning and body products. It’s always been something I’ve loved to do and can be proud of when someone asks “Where did you get this?” And can be over here saying “I made it!”. I mean is there a better compliment than someone saying they like something you put your heart into? You can do and make anything you set your heart to do! I promise you’ll never regret making something healthy for your home, even if you “Pinterest fail” it a time or two. Practice makes perfect my loves!

I started making my own body scrub from a Pinterest recipe about 8 years ago and was immediately hooked on how quick and easy it was. An addiction was born that day and I decided if I can make something on my own I will do it. Another part of me loves knowing where my products come from and that they are made with love. When you read the back of most cleaning products you just kind of stare at it for a minute trying to think back to middle school latin to understand some of the gibberish written on there. Well friend when you make your own cleaning supplies it takes the guessing game right out the window and you feel comfortable spraying down your kitchen counter and knowing your kid may lick the icing off it later and all is well in the world. In the spirit of the holiday I will be giving y’all two of my favorite cleaning products for this time of year.

Christmas Tree All Purpose Spray:

1 Empty Spray Bottle (Amber or darker glass spray bottle recommended)

1/2 bottle White Vinegar ( I usually use generic brand)

1/2 bottle plain water

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp Iowa Pine Mrs. Meyers dish soap ( I will post a link below)

10 drops Pine Essential Oil

Shake it up and label your Christmas cleaning goodness!

Antibacterial Sweet Peppermint Spray:

1 Empty Spray Bottle (Amber or darker glass bottle recommended)

1/2 cup Vinegar

1 1/2 cup Water

1/2 cup Vodka (If vodka is not your thing you can use rubbing alcohol as well)

10-20 drops Peppermint essential oil (I will link my favorite below)

5-10 drops sweet almond oil

Shake it up and label!
